Vinicius Santana is entering his first year of teaching as an Assistant Director at Clark HS. Mr. Santana teaches the Symphonic Band, Varsity Band, and Jazz Band. He is joining the Clark HS Band after graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Texas Tech University.
Mr. Santana grew up in Garland where he attended North Garland High School. He was involved with the
Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Steel Drum Band, and Full Orchestra. He was also involved in the All Region Band, was a 4x qualifier for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, and was recognized in the Collin County Jazz Festival.
At Texas Tech University, he studied Saxophone under David Dees. He was also a member of The Goin’ Band from Raiderland, Concert and Symphonic Bands, saxophone ensemble and various saxophone quartets. He was also an active member in the Lubbock community through private lesson instruction, and local choir participation as a tenor vocalist. Mr. Santana has active membership in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and TMEA, where he was awarded the Collegiate Music Educator award.
In between school years at TTU, Mr. Santana spent his summers as a Marching Tech for his alma mater, North Garland HS. After he completed student teaching, he was a Substitute Teacher for Frisco ISD.
Mr. Santana currently resides in McKinney with his fiance and their 3 cats. Outside of band, he enjoys movies, gaming, watching sports, and trying local restaurants. He is excited to join the Clark Cougar Band family!
